Electric Image Ships Amorphium 3.0 SAN CLEMENTE, CALIF. (Dec. 6, 2002) -- Electric Image, Inc. is proud to announce that Amorphium 3.0 is now shipping. The highly anticipated update to Amorphium Pro 1.2, Amorphium 3.0 will run on Apple's OS X and OS 9 operating systems as well as
Microsoft's Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.
Amorphium 3.0 contains many new, sophisticated features. The most advanced of these new features is Amorphium's implementation of "Subdivision Surface" modeling tools. These new tools, collectively called "Tin", bring a completely new sculpting system to the artist allowing unprecedented control and creativity in a sub $1000 application. Amorphium's Tin tools can be easily combined with its other modeling and paint features to
create a whole array of sophisticated organic and hard-surface models. Other additions include an updated look with Amorphium 3.0 as a "windowed" application, new material elements and controls, use of QuickTime movies for backgrounds, animation preview, and much more!
We are very proud of the newest version of Amorphium. It furthers our goals of making 3D more accessible to the general computer user and specifically to the 2D graphic artist, said Dwight Parscale, CEO of Electric Image, Inc.
Amorphium 3.0 is the successor to both the original Amorphium from Play and Electric Images Amorphium Pro product. We decided to change the name back to Amorphium to dispel possible confusion for current customers and new buyers and the 3.0 indicates that this
is the third release in this product line, commented Brad Parscale, VP of Sales. Amorphium 3 is here!

Tin - Amorphium 3.0 adds a whole new modeling approach, Subdivision Surface modeling. This system (called Tin in Amorphium) puts much more control in the artist's hands.
- A control cage is used to shape the model. Any part of the model (large or small) can be divided into finer areas
of control. This means you get more polygons (and more control) in just the areas where you need it.
- In addition, the Tin objects work with the other Amorphium tools. You can bend, twist or otherwise shape your Tin object and the changes will be accurately reflected in the control cage.
